ETHNIC GROUPS IN REMOTE SOUTHWEST CHINA
  Day 1 Kunming-Jianshui (205 km, 2.5 hours). Arrival in Kunming then bus to Jianshui which is the cultural center of southern Yunnan province. Visit the 400 year old Chaoyang Tower which is even older than Tian An Men in Beijing. O/N Jianshui. 
 ETHyaolr.jpg  Day 2/3 Jianshui-Yuanyang (Hani & Yi minority area, 150 km, 3 hours). Sightseeing includes the Double-dragon-bridge and Tuanshan Village, famous for its very old typical Chinese traditional houses, the famous Ximen Dabang Ancient Well, bean curd workshops, Confucius Temple, which is the second largest in China. If lucky, here you can meet the bound feet old ladies who are survived in fewer and fewer number. In the afternoon we drive to Yuanyang. Day 3 visit to Yuanyang. Experience the highlight of the trip: in the morning, dawn visit to Terraced Rice Fields. Visit local morning market. 2 nights in Yuanyang .
 Ethnic04.jpg  Day 4 Yuanyang-Jinping (Yao, Miao, Dai minority area, 220km, 6hours). Jinping, which covers an area of 3677 square kilometers, is the home of multi-ethnic groups including residents of Miao, Yao, Dai, Hani, Yi, Han, Zhuang, Lahu. O/N Jinping .
 so02.jpg  Day 5/6 Jinping-Pingbian (Miao minority area, 135 km, 4 hours). Morning walk for about 3 hours through villages around Jinping. Visit Shili Village and Red Head Yao Minority. Drive to Pingbian, located close to Yunnan's border with Vietnam. Day 6 visit villages to observe daily life of ethnic local groups. Afternoon visit of Daweishan Park, a national subtropical rain forest reserve (40 min to Pingbian by bus). 2 nights in Pingbian .
   Day 7 Drive to Wenshan (Zhuang, Miao minority area, 249 km, 7 hours). Visit one of the local markets here. O/N Wenshan .
 so03.jpg  Day 8 Drive to Babao (Zhuang minority area, 175 km, 5 hours). Sights include forests, caves, karst formations and waterfalls. This scenic spot consists of four sections: Babao, Heye, Tangna Cave and Sanla Waterfall. O/N Babao.
   Day 9 Drive to Detian, Guangxi Zhuang Minority Autonomous Region (195 km, 5.5 hours). Visit the Detian Waterfall which is the second largest trans border waterfall in the world after Niagara Falls. O/N Detian (10 km from the waterfall).
 so04.jpg  Day 10 We drive into the Mingshi (180 km, 5 hours) countryside and take a bamboo boat down the picturesque Mingshi River (about 45min). Lunch in Longzhou, an ancient town in Guangxi province. Then to Huashan (3.5 hours) to take a boat to see the "Flower Mountain" about 1h and 30 min and stay at Huashan ethnic culture village and enjoy dinner and a Dong minority dance spectacle at night. O/N Huashan.
 Ethnic03.jpg  Day 11 Early departure to Nanning (200 km, 6 hours), which is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Minority Autonomous Region in southern China. It is known as the "Green City" because of its abundance of lush tropical foliage. Visit to Nanning museum in the afternoon. O/N Nanning.
 so05.jpg  Day 12/13 Long drive to Sanjiang (500 km, 13 hours), which is located at the junction of northern Guangxi, Hunan and Guizhou. It is an autonomous county mainly consisting mainly of Dong Ethnic Tribe. Day 13 visit the Sanjiang Museum, Mapan Old Tower and Bajiang County. Lunch in Chenyang. Walk across the beautiful Chenyang Wind and Rain Bridge. Then visit of Pingpu Village and Guandong Village. 2 nights in Sanjiang.
   Day 15 Today we drive from Zhaoxing to Rongjiang (135 km, 4 hours). Between Zhaoxing and Rongjiang, we visit a number of Dong Villages. O/N Rongjiang .
 so06.jpg  Day 16 In the morning visit of Dong Village of Chejiang. Zhang Lu Village of Chejiang is the largest settlement of Dong nationality in China. Then to Sandu and walk in a Shui Village (Shui/Water Nationality Village). Lunch in Sandu. After lunch we drive to Kaili ( 200 km, 5.5 hours), which is a city in the southeastern Guizhou Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou province. O/N Kaili.
   Day 17 Subject to the season today we will visit local Miao people and their villages. Miao people celebrate the famous Lusheng Festival, which is the one of the most important festivals for ethnic Miao groups in Guizhou Province. Then drive back to Kaili. O/N Kaili.
 ETHchildren.jpg  Day 18 Drive to Huanping (86 km, 2.5 hours). Huangping County covers a total area of 1,667.8 square kilometers and has a total population of 347,400 people, the vast majority of whom are Dong, Zhuang, Buyi and Miao ethnic groups. We drive to a Miao village to observe local girls weaving their beautiful embroideries. O/N Kaili.
   Day 19 Today we drive from Kaili to Guiyang, capital of Guizhou.Then tour finishes
