MSC Cruises is coming to Galveston

Adventure enthusiasts and leisure travelers now have an exciting new choice for cruising from Texas. Less than a decade after entering the U.S. market, MSC Cruises, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, has charted a course for Galveston, which ranks as the nation’s fourth-busiest cruise port. MSC's commitment to the area includes the launch of a state-of-the-art terminal set to open in November 2025, establishing the cruise line’s fourth home port in the United States. This development is sure to attract both Texans and visitors from nearby states.
"Venturing into Galveston marks a significant milestone for MSC Cruises. This is our inaugural move beyond East Coast ports, making it a logical step to enhance our U.S. presence in a vibrant and expanding cruise market such as Galveston," states Lynn Torrent, president of MSC Cruises North America.
Galveston, with its expansive drive market and appeal to a diverse range of guests, such as families and multigenerational travel groups, is seen by Torrent as an ideal home port for MSC Cruises. This move is also poised to provide a significant economic boost for the Texas port city, as many of the 1.5 million cruise passengers who set sail from Galveston each year often enhance their trips by adding a few extra nights before or after their cruises.
The MSC Seascape will embark on Western Caribbean itineraries, beginning with its inaugural voyage from Texas on Nov. 9, departing from Galveston Wharves’ Pier 16. The seven-night sailings will feature Costa Maya, Isla de Roatan, and Cozumel.
Boasting the ability to accommodate 5,877 passengers, the impressive ship offers an abundance of onboard entertainment: Exciting thrill rides, live music, and captivating theatrical performances, complemented by 13 pools and water features, a casino, and a luxurious full-service spa, are just a glimpse of its extensive array of features and amenities. Furthermore, with 11 dining venues and 19 bars and lounges, passengers have the delightful opportunity to experience a new dining or drinking destination every single time.
The ship proudly showcases one of our expansive MSC Yacht Clubs, allowing a diverse new audience to explore and relish our luxurious ship-within-a-ship concept, complete with spacious suites and exclusive amenities designed for guests in search of an enhanced vacation experience.
The starting price for the inaugural sailing is $540 per person based on double occupancy in an interior stateroom, inclusive of all taxes, fees, and gratuities. Rates begin at $680 for ocean view rooms, $740 for balcony rooms, and $4,202 for MSC Yacht Club suites. Travelers have the option to enhance their experience with all-inclusive beverage packages, while additional deals and promotions are offered year-round.
